This project uses 60 beads and 3 feet of cord. This project is scalable and allows you to use any size beads.
Backpack Hook: Plastic pony beads and rat tail Key Chain: #6 seed beads and bead string Earrings: #10/#11 seed beads and 28 gauge craft wire
Cut a piece of cord 3 feet in length. Place on bead on the cord and move it to the middle
The eyes are next, but on two "eye beads" on to side B of the cord.
Insert cord end A through both "eye beads".
Pull both ends of the cord tight. Be sure that the beads are in the center of the cord. It is easier to fix this now than end up short on one side later.
Add a new row, following the pattern above, add (3) beads to cord side A.
Insert cord end A through all (3) beads in the row. Make sure that you are threading the cord in the proper direction. This is called a "body stitch" and you will use it ou the project. Continue following the pattern and adding rows until you reach a leg.
The leg is made using one cord. Start the right leg by adding (3) beads for the leg and (3) beads to make the foot on the cord side A
Skip the (3) bead that make the foot and thread back through the (3) leg beads. To move the leg close to the body, hold bead #5 with two finger, hold the end of cord A and pull firmly. The leg should slide up against the body.
Continue using the leg stitch and the body stitch as you follow the pattern. To create the tail, use the body stitch (1) bead per row. To finish the end, tie the cord ends together in a knot.
